About This Sermon
Tracing the thread of rest from Genesis 2 through Israel's Sabbath, Psalm 95, and Hebrews 4, Clay Thornton shows that God's rest was never merely a break from work — it was an invitation to trust him and to share in the good world he made. Israel refused that invitation at the edge of Canaan, and even Joshua's rest fell short of what God intended. The Hebrew writer says a Sabbath rest still remains for the people of God, opened to us now through Jesus Christ and waiting to be brought to its fullness. Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart.
