Youth Ministry

Our youth ministry works with our middle school and high school students so that they know the scriptures, know the people of this congregation, and leave home with a faith that is genuinely their own.

Classes

Our Youth Bible classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings are split into Middle and High School. These classes are oriented around not only continuing to learn what scripture holds, but how to apply it as our world expands. Bible knowledge is incredibly important, but a true faith is an enacted and active one. We explore what entering into faith looks like, and how we pursue the transformed life Jesus calls us to.

Second Sunday

On the second Sunday evening of each month through the school year, our middle school and high school students gather for an evening built around growing closer to one another and closer to God.

Each Second Sunday gives our students time to visit and reconnect, a meal to share, organized games and activities, and a practical Bible study that challenges them to live for Christ.

Our November gathering closes out the fall with a progressive dinner. Students travel together to several homes for different courses of the meal, spending the evening with one another and with members of our church family.

Summer Youth Series

Each summer our teens join congregations from across the area for the Summer Youth Series. This is an exciting event where our youth is able to participate with other youth groups and form relationships with them.

Every evening follows a similar shape: singing, a youth devotional delivered by the host congregation, an activity, and a meal. The goal is worship and the spiritual edification of our youth.

Leadership Training

Through the summer months, in parallel with the men's training our young men take on the challenge of leading worship in various ways. Reading scripture, praying publicly, leading singing, and sharing a message about faith are all taught and encouraged. Twice a month a youth-led worship service offers our youth valuable practice with these skills and confidence that leads to Sunday morning leaders.
