About This Sermon
Clay Thornton preaches from Joshua 20 on the Old Testament cities of refuge, showing how they reveal the sanctity of human life, the justice of God, and above all His mercy. Tracing the theme through Genesis 1, Genesis 9, Numbers 35, and into Ephesians 1, Colossians 1, and Hebrews 6, he presents Jesus as the true blood-redeemer and high priest in whom we find refuge. The central call is to stop running away from God in times of shame and failure and instead run to Him, and for the church to be a beacon of that same refuge for broken people.
