A Note on Services on Sunday, January 25th 2026
Southside family,
The weather conditions we’re facing this weekend create very real risk of travelling tomorrow. We have been disucssing possibilities all week, but given the reality now visible we have decided to cancel our regular service. Our care and concern for our people—especially those who may be more vulnerable—is both spiritual and physical, and we want to avoid placing anyone in harm’s way.
Even so, the absence of a gathered service does not mean the absence of worship. Scripture reminds us, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). Tomorrow, we encourage you to let the stillness of the day become an intentional space to turn your attention toward Him.
Take time to pray. Read a Psalm. Walk with Jesus in the Gospel accounts. Remember the covenants of God and reflect on His faithfulness to keep them. Rather than rushing past the interruption, allow it to slow you down and refocus your heart. Sometimes God uses unexpected pauses to draw us into deeper trust and awareness of His presence.
If you’re able, reach out to one another. Check on someone who may be isolated, older, or in need. Caring for one another is one of the ways we continue to live out our faith, even when we are not physically together.
Please know that our leadership is mindful of you and committed to your care. If you need help, support, or prayer, don’t hesitate to reach out.
We look forward to being back together soon. Until then, may God keep you safe, grounded, and attentive to His work in your life.
